Time to move or stay?
Just had an annual work review – apparently I’m at the top of my level for pay – so there is no chance of a of more that a 4% rise (less than inflation, less than a rent increase) without promotion to a lead engineer.
Problem is I’m doing total survey and design on a -15 million project, I have been that busy with site visits (all over WA), pre-design, CAD, Electrical cubical design that I have not had time program any of my companies RTU’s yet. This is not rocket science though because they have a load of standard site modules. I always take on a project as if it was mine – i.e. full responsibility (was/am a PLC/SCADA contractor) so always feel I need to stay to the end – What should I do…
You have alot of problems with your resume.
1.) You have employment gaps of several months. For example..What did you do between 08/2004-09/2005? You need to explain every gap.
2/) You do not stay in a job very long. Any hiring manager will see this and wonder how many weeks or months you will stay in the job.
3.) Accent your Education above your work record. You may want to eliminate jobs such as Taco Bell from the resume.
Overall, the resume shows you are going down in the world, not up.
Email me if you want more help.
You might want to explain why you only stayed at some of the jobs a few months… employers don’t look favorable on that point.
